Privacy Policy

SWA GA Pilots (swagapilots.com) is a private, members-only community site for current and former Southwest Airlines pilots who fly general aviation. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it. It's short because we collect little and sell nothing.

What we collect

• Account details — your Southwest employee number, first and last name, personal email address, and a password (stored only as a salted hash, never in plain text).
• Content you post — airstrip guides, map pins, classified ads, photos, saved routes, and issue reports. This content is visible to other logged-in members (never to the public).
• Technical basics — a session cookie to keep you logged in, and standard web server logs (IP address, request time) via our hosting and Cloudflare, kept for security and debugging.

What we don't collect

• No advertising trackers, no analytics beacons, no third-party ad cookies.
• Location: the map's "my position" button uses your browser's location on your device only — your position is never sent to or stored on our servers.
• We never sell, rent, or share member data with anyone.

How we use your information

• To operate the members-only site: your name appears on content you post so other members know who shared it.
• To email you event alerts you've asked for and account notices.
• To notify the site admin of new signups and reported issues.

Service providers

The site runs on privately operated infrastructure, proxied through Cloudflare (DDoS protection and caching) and sends email via Gmail. Airport, runway, and chart data come from public FAA and OurAirports sources.

Your photos

Photos you attach to strips, pins, or ads are stored on our server at full resolution and are visible only to logged-in members. Delete them anytime by editing the item, or remove everything by deleting your account.

Deleting your account

Go to My Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your account, email, saved routes, and all content and photos you posted. It cannot be undone.

Who can join

Membership is limited to current and former Southwest Airlines pilots. The site is intended for adults (18+).
